Salem Forge officially came into existence January 2021 after many years of hobby blacksmithing (very small scale) and plenty of coaxing from friends and family to start selling the items I make.

The Blacksmith

Raised in New Jersey Donovan joined the Navy and spent 20 years as a Submariner. He met his wife, Michele early in his military career. Half way through his career they settled in Salem, Connecticut where they raised their three children. Upon his retirement from the Navy in 2013, Donovan began his second career with the Government. During this time he built his first forge and continued to follow his passion in blacksmithing. When not in his shop you can find Donovan on the Long Island sound pursuing his other passion, fishing.

One of my favorite enjoyments is to be out on the water with my wife and friends fishing and cruising around the Long Island Sound.
